ABOUT K23

K23 first opened it's doors in June of 2014 and is named after the perfume from Tom Robbins novel Jitterbug Perfume.

K23 opened as an art gallery that hosted the occasional musical performance but we have learned that we are most gifted in exhibiting artists with musical talents. We lean toward hosting psychedelic, garage rock, shoegaze, surf, and other exceptional kinds of music.

Some of the artists we have worked with:
Mild High Club, Boogarins, Al Lover, Ringo Deathstarr, Matt Hollywood (of The Brian Jonestown Massacre), Pure X, Christian Bland and the Revelators, Holy Wave, Part Time, Deradoorian (of The Dirty Projectors), Har Mar Superstar, Mr. Elevator, Institute, Studded Left, Kikagaku Moyo, The Memories, Destruction Unit, White Mystery, OBN IIIs, Gary Wilson, Follakzoid, Death Valley Girls, Colleen Green, Warm Soda, Zig Zags, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Fred & Toody (of Dead Moon), Boogarins, Ben Aqua, Divino Nino, Sugar Candy Mountain, Glitter Wizard, Creepoid, & many more!

We are no longer hosting shows at K23 Gallery, however we still host all kinds of fun events in other locations around the San Antonio area.

K23 is owned by Gem and Glenn Hotvet.

"There is a longstanding argument about whether perfuming is a science or an art. The argument is irrelevant, for at the higher levels, science and art are the same. There is a point where high science transcends the technologic and enters the poetic, there is a point where high art transcends technique and enters the poetic."
